My journey from nearly 500 pounds to losing over 200 pounds and counting, has been wild and transformative. I'm all about making fitness accessible, whether you're looking to get healthy or you're a coach helping others. I'm Athena Perez, ("Bean") your go-to gal on a remarkable journey of transformation. I'm not just on this path, I'm paving it! With a holistic approach to health, I focus on functional fitness, mental, and emotional well-being. As a CrossFit Affiliate Owner and Level 2 trainer, I've got the chops to help you or your clients reach their goals.

Born in scenic Washington, my battle with food and the scars of child abuse began at age 5, leading to a peak weight of nearly 500lbs by 38. Struggling with health, on the brink of immobility and In the midst of despair, my prayers were answered, offering a glimpse of a healthier life I yearned for and began to pursue

Way Back Where It All Began...

In March 2017, I walked into a CrossFit gym, and let me tell you, my life hasn't been the same since! Over the next year and a half, I shed over 200 pounds (yep, you read that right!). My journey was featured on the CrossFit Journal and I became a Level 1 Trainer.

Joined CrossFit and Never Looked Back

Despite setbacks like total knee replacements, I stayed committed to my journey, earning my CrossFit Level 2, releasing my first book, and opening Scaled Nation CrossFit. I also created the CEU-approved “Working with Larger Bodies” seminar to help coaches train those on transformative journeys. 

Wrote A Book and Created a Seminar

I committed to finishing what I started by reigniting my own journey, and oh, it's been nuts! But one thing hasn't changed: my unwavering purpose. Coaches and trainers are the heart and soul of the fitness community, and I’m on a mission to be the ultimate resource for helping members and clients dealing with obesity. And guess what? There's absolutely no stopping me now!

Coaching the Coaches

Strolling down my own life's path, I've become a go-to guide for those just starting their journey. Whether it's providing essential tools to coaches, gym owners, or families, it's become the most rewarding part of my life. My passion? Scaled Nation Training. I'm head over heels for it, and I savor every moment and just like life, it's always evolving. Cheers to the future!
