Steady | Week 52 Weight Loss

Day 365.

And so we arrive at day 365. It feels a bit surreal that this journey of mine started an entire year ago.  I remember waking up that morning January 2, 2017, feeling excited but a bit overwhelmed at the trip I was embarking on. I knew it was going to be difficult and it would take a long time. There was a part of me that didn’t believe I would actually do it (that took months) but I started anyway.  I was 448 pounds, and a size 38-40 in women’s.

Here’s my year 🙂

I have approximately 90 more pounds to lose based on where I THINK I want to end up but that could change as I continue. As of today, the final number was 187.5 pounds. I’ll take it.  It wasn’t the 200-pound goal, but that’s a gold medal for me! Hell to the yeaaaaa.

In my 2018 goal book, there is a page called “Word of the Year.” Last year, I wrote the word “Transformative” as my sacred word. This year, the word is “Steady”…… Let me tell you a little about what this means to me.

Steady has a few meanings. It gives me incredible hope because I don’t have to do everything all over again, I just have to keep steady in what I have already learned and keep going. I set a goal to reach my ideal weight range for September 30th. Totally doable.  I’m guessing this healthy range will be anywhere from 170 – 185 for me. Steady also represents my constant solid ground that creates the concrete in which I stand on. These are God, my family, my friends, my gym community, and my coach – these 5 pillars are Bean’s MY-5.????

To the Mi-5 Community in Lakeville, MN – you are one incredible bunch of people. I was scared shitless the day I walked in that gym. The day was March 24th, 2017. I didn’t feel I belonged there; I certainly was no example of fitness, and I doubted this could be a safe place for me. I was so completely wrong. I appreciate everything from all of you. Thank you for your support, well wishes, encouragement, and friendships.

To my coach DJI hope you know how important you are to me. It doesn’t seem to matter how crazy my goals seem, you are behind me 100%. I’ve never questioned anything you’ve asked me to do because I trust you with my life. Thank you…..For pushing me to be the best I can be. At every turn, you want me to reach my fullest potential and exceed even my own expectations. It’s happened many times. You’re there to pick me up, offer wise words, and teach invaluable lessons I hold close to my heart. For every month that goes by I am altered and made a better, more successful person.  I use phrases like “I get too”…. Instead of “I have too.” I appreciate your willingness to walk alongside me. We’ve got a big year ahead, and I know you will be there every step of the way.

Thank you to all of you for being part of this year. Tomorrow, we embark on Part 2. You know what they say; some sequels are better than the first. *wink*.

Lovingly,

Bean

Love,

Athena
